Patricia “Pat” Smith, age 83, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025 from health complications.
She was a longtime resident of St. Tammany Parish since moving here in 1973.
Kenneth “Kenny” W. LaNata, age 86, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025.
Born in New Orleans, LA, he loved sailing and spearfishing and won numerous races on his Catalina 22, Easterly 30 and Pearson sailboats, all named “Weather Witch.”
He was awarded the 2011 Tammany Yacht Club Championship and was a past board member of that group. Also, a longtime member of the Sea Horses Diving Club and past president of the La. Council of Underwater Diving Club.
He also enjoyed his work at the Kenner Little Theater and was involved in several movies filmed in Louisiana.
Mavis Beggs Trahan, age 82, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025.
Born in San Antonio, TX, she moved to New Orleans in 1961, then retired to Slidell in 2008.

Elizabeth “Betsy” Mae Handley Shamis, age 76, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025.
Born in Lake Charles, LA, she earned a Master of Arts +30 degree in Special Education from LSU, and was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority, as well as a life member of the Junior Auxiliary of Slidell and the Prayer Warriors group.
She enjoyed crawfish boils, LSU football and had a life marked by a strong faith.
