Bertha Hatfield Lewis (Gilmore), of Lacombe, passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2016, at Louisiana Heart Hospital, Lacombe.
She was 92 years old.
Born December 17, 1923 in Milton, West Virginia, daughter of the late Hibbert H. Hatfiled, Pike County Kentucky and Ella Mae Chambers Hatfield, Logan, West Virginia.
She is preceded in death by seven brothers, Roland Hatfield, Richard Hatfield, Lonnie Hatfield, Clyde Hatfield, Arch Hatfield, Emerson Hatfield, Jimmie Hatfield and three sisters, Garnet Woods, Gertie Minor, Helen Stanley.
She was married to the late Edward F “Peck” Lewis Sr. and William J Gilmore Jr;
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Lewis Shephard, and son, Edward F “Cowboy” Lewis, Jr. (Margaret).
She had six grandchildren, Michael Shephard (Nina), the late Matthew Shephard, Melissa Shephard Bergeron (Michael), Rebecca Lewis Landers (Terry), Edward J. Lewis, and Brian Lewis (Dominique); seven great grandchildren, Victoria Shephard, Christopher Shephard, Sarah Bergeron, Aiden Bergeron, Jordan Landers, Jarin Landers, and Jillian Landers.
Her previous employment was with the New Orleans Transit as a streetcar driver during WWII and DH Holmes in shoe sales.
Prior to her residing in Lacombe, where she attended St. John of the Cross Church, she lived in the ninth ward of New Orleans and then in Chalmette, La.
Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 8 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, 61030 Brier Lake Drive, in Lacombe, Louisiana.
Burial in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens in Chalmette.

Sheila Norris Guth, of Lacombe, passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2016.
She was 59 years old.
She was the beloved wife of the late Michael J. Guth; mother of Ernest B. Guth (Carrie); daughter of Charles Norris and the late Mary Ann Norris; and sister of Steve Norris.
She is also survived by two grandchildren: Owen Michael Guth, and Olivia Kathleen Guth.
She was a native of Chicago, Illinois, and a longtime resident of Lacombe.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral.
Funeral services will be held at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. West (in Forest Lawn Cemetery), Slidell, on Saturday, December 10 at 11 a.m.
Friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 9 a.m.
Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice House, Slidell, Louisiana.

Sebastian Roy Pichon, of Slidell, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2016.
He was 88 years old.
He was the beloved husband of Emilda Lopez Pichon; loving father of Kathy Pichon; Keith Pichon; Kevin Pichon and wife, Sharon; Kirk Pichon and wife, Dawn; and son of the late Joseph Leo Pichon and Ida Facine Pichon.
He is also survived by his seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. West (in Forest Lawn Cemetery), Slidell, on Monday, December 12 at 11 a.m.
Interment Monday, December 12 at 1 p.m. in the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, Slidell.
Visitation at Honaker Funeral Home on Monday, December 12 from 9 until 11 a.m.

Martin Gregg Dailey, of Lacombe, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2016.
He was 69 years old.
He was the beloved husband of Shirley Bastian Dailey, the son of the late Edward Dailey and Alma Dailey, and the brother of the late Ronald Dailey.
He is survived by one sister-in-law, Delores Dailey of Saugerties, New York and one niece, Alicia Dailey of Beckley, West Virginia.
He was a native of New York City, NY and a longtime resident of Lacombe. He served our country during the Vietnam war in the U.S. Air Force. He retired from BellSouth after 30 years of service. He was also the recipient of the St. Louis Medallion from the Archdiocese of New Orleans.
A memorial Mass was held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church 28088 Main Street, Lacombe, on Dec. 3.

Florine Loescher Shows was called to be with the Heavenly Father on Thursday, December 1, 2016.
She was 83 years old.
Florine was a native of New Orleans. She leaves to cherish her husband of 63 years, Wilmot Shows. She also leaves behind eight children, Debra Clark (late Darrell), Connie Dudenhefer (Genie), Evamaria Hall (late Tommy), Suzette Williams (Lloyd), Cynthia Cochran (Jimmy), Marybeth Ricouard (Wayne), Maryjo Caruso (Darrell) and Wilmot Shows, Jr. (June); grandmother of 18 grandchidren and 20 great-grandchildren.
She joins in heaven her parents, the late Eva Kastner Loescher and Urban Loescher and her brothers and sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, December 7 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 1050 Robert Blvd., Slidell.

Valerie Rose McWaters “Nanny” passed away at her home in New Orleans, into the loving arms of Jesus on November 26, 2016, at the age of 99.
She was the daughter of the late Marcus Mott and Margaret Long McWaters; sister of the late Marcus McWaters, Marjorie Mandill, Margaret Brazier, Lucille McWaters, Shirley McWaters, Mary Dolores Hotard. N
She is survived by many dear friends. Valerie was a lifelong resident of New Orleans and a devoted parishioner of Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos Catholic Church formerly known as St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
Always greatly devoted to the Blessed Mother, she hosted a monthly rosary group for many years. She also shared her faith through the teaching of catechism. Valerie retired from the United States Coast Guard, as a civilian, with numerous awards, after 40 years of service.
As an alumna of Loyola University, she taught several college courses. Valerie was a talented seamstress; she enjoyed traveling and collecting antiques. Nanny loved hosting holiday celebrations with family and friends.
Her family would like to thank her personal sitter, Patrice “Erica” for her many years of loving care. Her family would also like to thank Myletta, Lucy, and Notre Dame Hospice for their dedication and compassion in maintaining her comfort and dignity.
Nanny was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Dec. 1 at Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos Catholic Church 3037 Dauphine Street New Orleans, La.

Bryan Keith Gilmore, Sr. passed away Monday morning, November 28, 2016, at his residence in Braithwaite, La.
He was 56 years old.
He was born in New Orleans, spent his childhood in St. Bernard Parish, and for the past 30 years lived his life in Braithwaite, La. Bryan loved hunting and fishing the bayous in Plaquemines Parish. He was the founder of the Watering Hole and G&H hunting club. Loving husband to Joy Lange Gilmore for 30 years.
He was the devoted father to Bryan Gilmore Jr. (Tiffany) and Brooke Gilmore (Kevin); brother of John Gilmore III (Connie), Donna Gilmore (Desi), and Jill Marie Kenyon (Chris); loving grandfather of Ethan Gilmore and his mother, Emma.
Bryan is the son of Jacqueline “Jackie” Lovell Gilmore and the late John F. Gilmore, Jr.
A private memorial service will be held later.
