Christine Marie Curran Blue passed away Thursday, May 19, 2012, following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in San Diego, Calif. on October 18, 1957, to the late William Arthur Curran and the late Marjorie Cecelia Zuercher Curran and lived in Louisiana for the last 35 years.
Blue created the first 300-square-foot Bayou Country in 1989 at Jax Brewery in New Orleans. She and her husband, Al Blue, decided to move across the lake to Slidell in 2004, where they built Bayou Country General Store.
Blue is survived by her husband, Alvin Blue; brothers, Kevin, Johnny; twin sister, Kathleen; nine nieces and nephews; and eight great-nieces and great- nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Caring Center, 1020 Buccaran Drive, Slidell, LA 70458 (985-646-1368).
An intimate memorial for family and friends will be held from 12 to 3 p.m., Friday, May 25 at the Northshore Beach Community Pavilion, 267 Debbie Drive, Slidell.

Molly Clare Strecker, of Slidell, passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2012.
She was 15 months old.
She was the daughter of Joshua J. and Melanie W. Strecker; sister of Katie A. Strecker; granddaughter of William I. Jr. and Mary M. Strecker and Leo L. Weixel and Deborah A. Calamari; and great-granddaughter of Mary A. Strecker, Shirley M. Labrano and Gayle J. Calamari.
She was also the niece of Jason W. Strecker, Benjamin J. Strecker, Rebecca A. Strecker, Emily S. Carlson and Troy J. Weixel; and cousin of William and Clare Strecker, Elizabeth, Abigail, Jacob and Katharine Strecker, Danielle and Savannah Weixel.
A funeral mass was held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Slidell on May 18.

Sandra Ponceti Buelle, of Slidell, passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2012, with her family by her side, from kidney cancer.
She is survived by children, Cheryl Simon, Peggy Goins, Edward Buelle Jr. and David Buelle; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandson, Brendyn Buelle; and soon-to-be born great-granddaughter, Guiliana Dallimore.
She is also survived by sister, Christine Brown.
She is preceded in death by husband, Edward Buelle Sr.; parents, Joseph and Dina Ponceti; and brother, Joseph Ponceti Jr.
Buelle was born in New Orleans and resided in Slidell for 43 years.
Her family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations should be made to Lakeshore Hospice.
Funeral services were held at Honaker Funeral Home in Slidell on May 20.

Clayton Adam Logos Sr. passed away on Friday, May 18, 2012, at his residence.
He was 85 years old.
He was a native of New Orleans, a longtime resident of St. Bernard, and relocated to Slidell after Hurricane Katrina to be near family.
He was a proud veteran of World War II, serving in the US Navy in the Pacific Theater. He retired from Whirlpool Corp. after 30 years in appliance repair.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Yvonne Fitzgerald Logos; sons, Clayton Adam Logos Jr. and the late James Franklin Logos; daughters, Kathleen Logos Carlone and Colleen Logos Johnson; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Thursday, May 24 at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Slidell at 11 a.m.

Irwin James Swede Olsen Jr., of Slidell, passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2012.
He was 87 years old.
Olsen was the husband of Elise Marie Bergeron Olsen for the past 52 years; father of seven children, Sandra Anne Olsen, Denton, Texas; Kathleen Claire Smith, Redding, Ct.; Michael Patrick Olsen, Slidell; James Fredrick Olsen, Seattle, Wash.; Mary Theresa Flickinger, Harrisburg, Penn.; Anne Marie Olsen, Jennings, La. and Trina Louise Olsen, Baton Rouge; son of the late Ethel Anderson Olsen and Irwin J. Olsen Sr.; and brother of Joyce Thedy.
He is survived by grandchildren, Jessica Armstrong, Joshua and Andrew Olsen, Nathan Flickinger, George Smith and the late Melissa Ann Olsen.
Olsen was a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, a resident of south Slidell for 46 years, a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Council #2732 and the Elks Lodge # 2321.
A funeral mass was held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Slidell on May 22.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the South West Louisiana Veterans Home, Jennings, La., preferred.

Edwin F. “Eddie”?Holdsworth Jr., of Pearl River, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2012, at his home.
He was 84 years old.
He was the husband of Carol McKean Holdsworth for the past 53 years; father of Edwin Holdsworth III, Dr. Carolyn Holdsworth, Mark Holdsworth and the late Michael Holdsworth; son of the late Edwin F. Sr. and Lilly Parker Holdsworth; and brother of Edith Cocran and the late John Holdsworth and Violet Kelly.
He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, one late grandson, four great-grandchildren and also numerous nieces and nephews.
Holdsworth was a native of Slidell and a resident of Pearl River for 46 years.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to the funeral service at Honaker Funeral Home in Slidell on Thursday, May 24 at 10 a.m.
Donations to First Baptist Church of Pearl River, LA Building Fund at 64541 Hwy. 3081, Pearl River, LA 70452 is preferred, in lieu of flowers.

Tony Samrow, of Slidell, passed away on Monday, May 21, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was 84 years old.
He was born February 29, 1928, to the late George and Viola Samrow and was a lifelong resident of the Bayou Liberty area.
Samrow was married for 64 years to the late Nellie Crawford Samrow. He leaves behind his four children, Toni Marie Lewis, Keith Samrow, Bobbie Samrow and Claudette Eberly. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by his sister, Louise McClelland; and brothers, Perry and Earl Samrow. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Eric Treadway; and brothers, Steve, Sidney and Stanley Samrow.
He was a past member of the Slidell Sportsman League, and had a passion for hunting and fishing.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Honaker Funeral Home in Slidell on Friday, May 25 from 5 to 10 p.m. and on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Slidell.
