Charley “Chuck” Marcussen passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2012.
He was 92 years old.
Marcussen was the retired Director of Marketing at the Outboard Marine Corporation Stern Drive Division.
He was born in Aarhus, Denmark and was the son of the late Hans Nicolaus Siegfred Marcussen and Margrethe Andersen.
From 1935 to 1938 he served in the U.S. 105th Calvary, Troop F in Wisconsin. During WWII he sailed as Master aboard several U.S. Army freight and supply ships, including “114,” “118” and “289” and the “Clarence M. Condon.”
He was the husband for the past 30 years of Helen “Bunny” Goff Marcussen and by the first marriage to the late Nancy Jane White Marcussen. He was the father of Christine E. M. Febles,
Charley Marcussen, Jr., Charles A. Ploegsma and the late Nelson E. Marcussen; and brother of Greta M. LeyKauf.
He is survived by eight grandchildren with two deceased.
Funeral services were held at Honaker Funeral Home in Slidell on April 30.
Rev. Paul O. Dabdoub officiated.

John Joseph Bartet Jr., of Slidell, passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2012.
He was 62 years old.
He was the son of John J. Bartet Sr. and the late Marlene Sander Bartet; father of John J. Bartet III and Jessie M. Bartet; and brother of Jace and the late Ray Bartet.
He is also survived by four grandchildren.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in Vietnam.
Bartet was a native of New Orleans and a longtime resident of Slidell. He was retired from Bell South Telephone Company.

Mary Elizabeth Lemoine, of Slidell, passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2012, in Baton Rouge.
She was 75 years old.
She was the wife of Alton Bernard Lemoine; and mother of Gary Lemoine, Terry Lemoine and David Lemoine.
She is also survived by three grandchildren, Spencer Lemoine, Cooper Lemoine and Beau Lemoine.
Lemoine was a native of Pensacola, Fla., a longtime resident of New Orleans, and a resident of Slidell for the past 12 years. A nurse of over 50 years, she retired from Baptist Hospital in New Orleans.
Memorial services were held at Honaker Funeral Home in Slidell on May 5.

William Knowles Fowler, of Pearl River, passed away on Monday, April 30, 2012.
He was 90 years old.
He was the husband of the late Mary Dell Southward Fowler; father of Carol F. Bussell; and brother of Frank A. Fowler, the late Bruce, Earl, Daniel W. Fowler, Ella F. Hoffman, Hazel F. Alto and June F. Stroop.
He is also survived by two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Fowler was a native of Washington, D.C. and a longtime resident of Pearl River. He was retired from Southern Railway after 42 years of service. He served in WWII with 106th Infantry Division in the European Theatre.
Memorial services were held at Pearl River United Methodist Church on May 25.

William “Ted” Barnett, passed away at his home on Monday, April 30, 2012, in Slidell.
He was 74 years old.
He was the husband of Jeanette Barnett for 50 years; father of Joseph, Jon, Jack and Merryanne Welch; son of the late Wilbur and Ida B. Barnett; and brother of Yvonne Necaise, Eileen Brown and Angie Balzi. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Barnett served his country in the U.S. Army Special Forces during the Vietnam War.
A memorial service was held at Northshore Church in Slidell on May 2.

Robert Joseph O’Neil passed away on Monday, April 30, 2012.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Sanborn O’Neil; father of Michael O’Neil Sr., Brian O’Neil, Keith O’Neil and Kellie O’Neil Alfonso; brother of Martin Patrick “Pat” O’Neil Jr. and Joan Bensel.
He is survived by five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services were held on May 5 at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Pearl River.

Luce “Dolly” Enloe Arieux, of Pearl River, passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2012.
She was 90 years old.
She was the wife of Warren Eugene Arieux for the past 69 years; mother of Dr. Marianne Arieux of Yonkers, New York; Warrene Arieux of Slidell; Elizabeth and Frank Johnson II of Quitman, La.; Deborah and Tom Andry of Laurinburg, North Carolina; Therese and Dr. Daniel Sheffer of Akron, Ohio; Jane and Richard Thomas of Baton Rouge; David and Leslie Arieux of Wellman, Iowa; Colette and Kenneth Robichau of Houston, Texas; Suzanne and Michael Porter of Houston; Gerard and Susan Arieux of Slidell; and Margaret and Dr. James Inabinet of Kiln, Ms.
She is also survived by 32 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
A funeral mass was held at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Pearl River on May 8.

Dolly Bowman passed away on Friday, May 4, 2012.
She was 80 years old.
Bowman was a member of First Pentecostal Church in Slidell.
She is survived by seven children, James Selven Bowman, Sandra L. Bowman Jefferson, M. Denise Bowman Crowe, Richard Keith Bowman, Karen S. Bowman Troyani, Carl Frank Bowman and Jehoral Ann Bowman Ghergich.
She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, three sisters and five brothers.
Funeral services will be held on May 11 at 2 p.m. at the First Pentecostal Church in Slidell. Visitation will be held on May 11 from 10 a.m. to noon at the First Pentecostal Church.
Interment to follow at Crawford Cemetery, Pearl River.
Brother Donald Bryan to be officiating.
Rosemary Cassidey Rahmel, of Slidell, passed away on Friday, April 27, 2012, at Slidell Memorial Hospital.
She was 84 years old.
She was the wife of the late Emil Rahmel; mother of Frances Hall, the late Ray Rahmel, Roy Rahmel, Riti Mayfield, Vicki Plauche, the late Emil Rahmel, Ronnie
Rahmel and Diedra Sevin; daughter of the late Jerome and Loretta Cassidey; and sister of the late Jerry Cassidey and Earl Cassidey.
She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a native of New Orleans, and a resident of Slidell for over 60 years.
Memorial services were held at Honaker Funeral Home in Slidell on May 5.
