Jeffrey David Lord, of Slidell, passed away at his home on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012.
Lord was born on August 16, 1947, in Nassau County, New York.
He was the son of the late Laurance Lord and the late Peggy Jane Machlin Lord. For the past 28 years, he has been the husband of Roxanne Galatas Lord.
Lord earned a B.S. in marketing from Merrimack College in Andover, Mass. In 1983, his employment brought him to south Louisiana. Lord obtained his private and commercial pilot license in 1985.
Lord was the father of Thomas Lord and Dawn Abney; brother of Daniel and Christopher; and step-brother of Fredric, Gretchen Ruoff, William Ruoff, Mikie Thompson and Buffy Derrick.
Funeral services were held at Honaker Funeral Home in Slidell on March 2.
In Lord’s memory, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or to the Church of the King in Mandeville, La.

Yvonne “Dutchess”?Dean Evans, of Slidell, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at her home in Slidell.
She was 89 years old.
She was the wife of the late Loyola K. Evans; mother of Lionel “Lee” Evans; daughter of the late Henry and Lillian Dean; and sister of James “Buddy” Dean, Henrietta “Etta” Welborn, Shirley Cuevas, Henry “Sonny” Dean Jr., Larry Dean, Carlotta “Lottie” Johnson and the late Alibess “Bess” Crawford, William “Bobby” Dean and Angeline “Sister” Lowe.
Evans was a native of Logtown, Ms. and a longtime resident of New Orleans and Slidell.
Funeral services were held at Honaker Funeral Home in Slidell on March 5.

Elise Marie Sarrat Mayeux passed away on Friday, March 2, 2012, at her home.
Mayeux was a native of New Orleans and a longtime resident of Slidell.
She was the daughter of the late Pierre and Marie Sarrat; wife of Leroy J. Mayeux Sr. for the past 66 years; mother of Leroy Jr. and Jan Mayeux, Janet and Jimmy Walker, Linda Mayeux, Michelle Mayeux, Terry Mayeux, Rene Mayeux, and Steve and Patty Mayeux.
She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Mayeux was the last surviving child of seven siblings.
She was a longtime parishioner of St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church. Mayeux was a fulltime “Gram” who was devoted to her family and enjoyed traveling/camping, gardening, square dancing, sewing and serving her church family.
A funeral mass was held at Honaker Funeral Home in Slidell on March 5.

Gwendolyn Seeber, born on November 21,1936, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012, at her home in Slidell.
She was the daughter of the late Louis and Mary Etta Weiss and wife of the late Paul Seeber.
Seeber is survived by two sons, Jeffery Paul Seeber (wife Martha) of Slidell, and Steven Louis Seeber of New Orleans; two granddaughters, Jessica and Jenese Seeber, both of New Orleans; one grandson, James Hall (wife Julie); two great-grandsons, Easton and Asher Hall of Russellville, Ar.; and one sister, Joel Scott of Abita Springs, La.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 400 Westchester Blvd., Slidell, on Friday, March 9 at 11 a.m.
Rev. Msgr Frank J. Lipps, celebrant.
Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until service time.
Masses or donations to Our Lady of Lourdes Church building fund, preferred, in lieu of flowers.

Mary Harper Schwarz passed away on Monday, March 5, 2012, in Metairie, La.
She graduated from Slidell High School and Southeastern Louisiana University. She retired as a school teacher after having taught in St. Tammany Parish, Terrebonne Parish and Rapides Parish. She was dedicated to family and church.
She is survived by her children, Carol Lea (J.D.) and Leo Schwarz (Michele); grandchildren, Sherrie Newcomb (Ron), Marie Cowan (Steve), Harold “Buzzy” Schwarz (Dana), Linda Schwarz, Michael Deroche Jr. (DeeDee), James Lea Jr. (Leoni), Brandy Baskin, Lee Schwarz Jr., Mark Schwarz, Billy Schwarz, Steven Pierce, Brittany Carreras (Brandon) and Kimberly Schwarz; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She is survived by siblings, Paul Harper, Dorothy Brister, Eula Morris and Rosalie Yates; preceeded in death by her husband, Albert Schwarz; sons, Harold E. Schwarz and John C. Schwarz; one great-grandchild, Dylan Baskin; one sister, Cora Lee Wells; and three brothers, Willie Harper, Milton Harper and John L. Harper.
Visitation will be held at D.T. Williams Funeral Home 67525 Hwy. 41. Pearl River, La. on Thursday, March 8 from 6 to 9 p.m. and continuing on Friday, March 9 from 9 a.m. until service time at 10 a.m.
Interment to follow in the Pearl Hickory Cemetery, Pearl River.

Helen Pichon Larche, of Slidell, passed away on Monday, Feb. 27, 2012.
She was 79 years old.
Larche was born to the late Veronica and Eli Pichon Sr. on Sept. 20, 1932, in Slidell.
She was the wife of James Larche Sr. for 57 years; mother of James Larche Jr.,Gary Larche, Cedric Larche, and Travis Larche; grandmother of Ashley, Taylor, Connor and Tamara Larche; and great-grandmother of David Eli LaViscount.
She is survived by her sister, Phyllis Dejan of New Orleans; and brothers, Eli Pichon Jr. and Alvin Pichon. She was preceded in death by brother, Roland Pichon; and sister, Margie Pichon of Los Angeles, Calif. and Lois Dauphin.
She was a dedicated parishioner of St. Genevieve Catholic Church.
Visitation was held at St. Genevieve Catholic Church, 58203 Hwy 433 Slidell, on March 3. A funeral mass followed at Dubuisson Cemetery.

Carol Casebonne, born on December 16, 1934, passed away in Slidell on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.
Casebonne is survived by her husband, Louis Casebonne; daughter, Valerie and husband Tim of San Pedro, Calif.; son Robert and wife Celeste of Middletown, Rhode Island; granddaughters Stephanie and Hillary Wein; grandsons, Connor Ryan, and Alexander and Gabrielle Casebonne; step-daughters, Yvette Powell of Darien, Ga. and Michelle Smolinski of Covington.
Casebonne was a retired administrative assistant for Shell Oil Co. in New Orleans. She was a Eucharistic minister at St. Luke’s Parish in Slidell and current member and past president of the Lady’s Auxiliary of the Knight’s of Columbus at Our Lady of Lourdes.
A memorial will be held at Honaker Funeral Home in Slidell on Saturday, March 10 at 11 a.m. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers a donation in Casebonne’s name be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
