Harold “Butch” Joffrion Jr., of Slidell, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2012, at Ochsner Northshore Medical Center.
He was 68 years old.
He was the husband of the late Francis R. Joffrion; companion for 14 years to Eleanore “Ellie” Kovach; father of Van Joffrion (wife Jennifer), the late Marisa Joffrion and the late Timothy “T.J.” Joffrion; son of the late Harold Sr. and Muriel Joffrion; and brother of the late Keith Joffrion.
He is also survived by two grandchildren, Evan Joffrion and Jade Graham; and best friend, Josey.
Joffrion was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Slidell over 50 years.
Funeral services were held at Honaker Funeral Home in Slidell on July 7.

Donald Ector Baylor, of Slidell, passed away on July 1, 2012.
He was 75 years old.
He was born on Sept. 22, 1936, to Mitchell Ector Baylor and Florence Viola Baylor in Ringling, Okla.
Baylor is survived by sons, James Dean and Richard Lee Baylor of Slidell; and three daughters, Donna F. Clements of Pottsboro, Texas, Harmony D. Teel and Melody D. Winchester of Dallas, Texas.
Baylor was of Lutheran faith and Masonic Member of Salisaw Lodge #120 in Oklahoma.
Funeral service were held on July 7 from the chapel of D.T. Williams Funeral Home, 67525 Hwy. 41, Pearl River, La.
Mildred M. Andrews, of Slidell, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2012, at her residence.
She is survived by eight children, Clarence Andrews, Thelma Price, Zandra Chambers, Janice Mulder, Patricia Richard, Reginald Goins, Pamela Goins and Sonya Andrews; sister, Johnnie May Burnett; sister-in-law, Ruth Blackwell; brother-in-law, Clinton Brown; niece, Dorothy Rushing; 30 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Andrews is preceded in death by two children, Cleveland Andrews and Delma Andrews; two brothers, Leslie and Austin Blackwell; and a sister, Shirley Brown.
Funeral services were held on July 7 from the chapel of D.T. Williams Funeral Home, 67525 Hwy. 41, Pearl River, La.
Rev. Bessie Reynolds, of Slidell, passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at Slidell Memorial Hospital.
She was 76 years old.
Reynolds is survived by her children, Shirley McConnell, Mike Henderson and Connie Slocum; sister, Ruth Payne; grandchildren, Michael, Janette, Wynette, Dee-Dee, Devin, Michelle and Jeff; and great-grandchildren, Shaun, Brennon, Shane, Bradon, Trace, Bethannie, Isaac, Cody and Faith.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Reynolds and Al Henderson. She was the co-founder of the Jesus Name Apostolic Church.
Funeral services were held on July 6 at Jesus Name Apostolic Church in Pearl River.
Brother Dwight Pace, Brother Mike Slocom, Brother Keith Payne, and Brother Jerry Terrell officiated.
Vincent Mark Maniscalco Sr., of Slidell, passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2012.
He was the father of Vincent M. Maniscalco, Jr. and Rachel Oramous; and brother of Samuel, Blaise, Francis, Rose and the late Michael, Joseph Maniscalco.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kevin Oramous Jr., Dominic and Eva Maniscalco.
He was a native of New Orleans and a longtime resident of Slidell. Maniscalco was a retired Aircraft Mechanic and worked for Chevron at New Orleans Lakefront Airport.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral mass at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. West (in Forest Lawn Cemetery), Slidell, on Saturday, July 14 at 11 a.m.

Molly Molnar Waller, of Slidell, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2012.
She was 102 years old.
She was the wife of the late Edward “Dutch” Waller; daughter of the late Antal Molnar and Juliana Szarka Molnar; beloved Mother of Robert Doucette, Karen Lane and the late Roland Roger Doucette; and sister of the late Edith Eisenberg, Andrew Molnar and Mike Molnar.
She is also survived by eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Honaker Funeral Home in Slidell on July 9.

Zoila Cano, a longtime resident of New Orleans and a resident of Slidell since 2005, passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2012, at Slidell Memorial Hospital.
She was 84 years old.
She was the wife of Ramon J. Cano; mother of Lilliana E. Behny; Raymond J. Cano, Carlos Cano, Maria C. Meringer, Aileen C. Ferrell, Carolyn C. Potate and Cynthia C. Sanders; daughter of the late Alberto and Concepcion Gaitan, both of Guatemala City, Guatemala; and sister of Alberto Gaitan and the late Rodolfo Gaitan.
She is also survived by 10 grandchildren.
A native of Guatemala City, Guatemala, a resident of New Orleans since 1959, Cano, a devoted Catholic, was a parishioner of St. Gabriel the Archangel, until moving to Slidell in 2005, where she became a parishioner of St. Luke the Evangelist.
A funeral mass was held at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, 910 Crossgates Blvd, in Slidell, on July 10.

James Loren Ament, of Slidell, passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2012, at Slidell Memorial Hospital after battling against illness for the past six years.
He was 67 years old.
He was the husband of Patricia Welch Ament for the past 21 years; father of James Ament and Susan Ament; step-father of Wendy Bird; son of the late William Luther Ament and Niceti Faye Guffey Ament; and brother of the late William L. Ament Jr. and Susan Marie Ament.
He is also survived by four grandchildren, a great-grandson and a step-grandfather of Andrew and Sydney Bird.
He is a native of St. Louis, Mo. and a resident of Slidell for the past 25 years. Ament served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. He retired as a Telephone Splicer for Bell South after 38 dedicated years. He was a parishioner of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. West (in Forest Lawn Cemetery), Slidell, on Thursday, July 12 from noon until 2 p.m. Services will begin at 2 p.m.

Michael Oliver Purvis, of Sanford, Ms. passed away on Sunday July 8, 2012.
He was 65 years old.
He was the son of the late Oscar Miller Purvis and the late Ivell Welborn Purvis; brother of the late Karen Lorentz and also brother of Tim Purvis (Rosaleen) and Cheryl Schemanski (Philip).
He is survived by nieces and nephews, Stephanie Prude Brashear (Michael), Andrew Prude (Susan) and Angela Prude Bailey (Ryan), Shane Purvis and Amy Purvis, Heather Schemanski and Noah Schemanski.
Purvis served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a longtime licensed tugboat pilot on the Mississippi River and was recently retired.
A private family memorial to follow.
