Let’s go, team U.S.A.!

I’ve been watching the amazing Olympics since they started last week. Who hasn’t been? I’ve seen a few signs around town that have made me feel proud. Some signs on businesses have said, “Let’s get the gold,” or just a picture of the Olympic rings. It’s made my heart swell with pride when I see that.
I’ve been watching these men and women, and man! They are in some kind of awesome shape. I?remember the days when I was a college athlete and thought I?was in shape. Now I look at these Olympians and see that they are really the standard for ultimate physicality. They are 100 percent pure muscle. It shows how much dedication the Olympians have.
I’m proud of our U.S.A. team, and hope we continue to win lots of medals, espcially golds.

Last weekend I moved into my new house. It’s the first really big purchase for my husband and I since we were married almost five years ago. If you want a good workout, move furniture in 100-degree weather.
On the big moving day, my husband and I ready to go. Then my 16-year-old brother Michael showed up with my mom. They were awesome. You know that country song that says, “You find out who your friends are?” Well, that is never more true than when it comes to moving. No one likes moving heavy furniture in extremely hot temperatures and humidity. But my family was there like no one else. My brother-in-law Thomas showed up too with his wife, Heather. They were such a huge help. If it wasn’t for my in-laws and family, I’d still be moving instead of writing this column. I?hate moving, but I sure do love my family.
Just for the record, though, the next time I move, which won’t be for a while, feel free for any of you local coaches to send out one of your teams to come help me. Rather than just my one young, strong brother, I’d have like 15 of them. What I’m saying is, if you work out, come help me. I’ll be so appreciative.
Happy house warming!
