SLIDELL – The Northshore Lady Panther softball team is on a roll.

After losing their first three games of the season, the Panthers have won nine straight that includes a 4-3 win over the Academy of Our Lady Penguins last week at Northshore in a non-district contest.

Northshore (9-3, 3-0) had to come from behind to beat the Penguins (4-4) in a very exciting game.

The scoreboard showed 1-1 after the first inning but AOL went up 2-1 in the third when Hanna Miller got an RBI single to drive in Cambre Vegas.

In the bottom of the fourth, Northshore’s Alora McInnis doubled in Camryn Cottingham to tie it at 2-2.

But AOL came right back when Jenna Cressonie put the Penguins back in front an RBI single to make it 3-2.

Thanks to some heroics in the bottom of the sixth inning, the Panthers fought back to tie it at 3-3 on an Ashley Short RBI single.

McInnis then singled in Short for what would prove to be the winning run giving the Panthers a well-deserved 4-3 victory.

Panther starter Jordan Vivien got the win giving up three runs on five hits.

For the Penguins, Miller got two hits and an RBI followed by Cressonie with a hit and an RBI and Magen Authement with a hit and an RBI.

Emily Dubuisson got a hit and an RBI for Northshore while Short had a hit and an RBI and McInnis two hits and two RBI’s.
